Im on Win2k Pro with Winamp 2.72, some early versions did the same thing. Whenever I hit stop or pause or winamp hits the end of a playlist my computer slows down a bit and I see the CPU usage gauge pegged at the max. Some reason the Winamp3 alpha that I got off download.com didn't have this problem.

Do you have any non-default plugins installed on your Winamp 2.72? Sometimes (not always) excessive CPU usage is caused by certain Input, Visualization, DSP/Effect and General Purpose plugins that don't behave properly.

You're right about that! turns out its mIRC Control EX v0.1 acting up Im gunna see if theres a new version of it...
