Just installed Winamp 2.72, usual nice slick install but now my .MID files won't play. I get a requester saying MMSYSTEM001 undefined external error.
Everything else plays fine, even my old Amiga .MODs.
Has a bug crept in?

Goto : Prefs -> Input -> MIDI Plugin -> Configure
Play around with the settings. Read the internal Help file for further info (Help button).
You probably need to change the "Device" from MidiMapper to your soundcard's midi device or, if you have DirectX 6.1 or higher (preferably 7.0a to 8.0a), try Microsoft Synth.
Most of the other relevant settings (in the other tabs) are explained via the Help button.

Recommended fix for v2.73 MIDI problems: set misc tab / 'midiOut mode' to 'immediate'. I am now running in_midi v2.52 which hasn't shown any single unpredictable behavior up to now on both of my computers; it will be uploaded tonight. Wanted: volunteers to run it on Win2k (ICQ me).
