Hello, I found another dickhead trying to sell winamp on eBay. But not only is he trying to sell winamp, he is selling other warez programs such as Photoshop and PSP pro along with it. Your thoughts?

Bizznatch 13th March 2001 22:46

it might help if i post the link ;)

xapec 13th March 2001 23:10

oh god here it goes again.

bonj 13th March 2001 23:13

Good software suite, but obviously illegal :) Much moreso than the first guy

Rswave2000 14th March 2001 00:13

i can't believe 21 people bidded for it

s1138 14th March 2001 00:29

haha, its funny

tjb2004 14th March 2001 02:02

Like all that shit fits on one cd. Yeah right. (I'd probably get it if it did!)

[yeah]700 posts[/yeah]

piesupreme 14th March 2001 02:05

the point is, i would buy it. half those programs i don't have, and i can't be arsed to download them form a 56k modem.

i would not promote the cd, but i would use it: if i had a cc and was american.

ok, so it's blatantly pirated, but i cannot deny the fact that i have done such illegal things like that.

i still think the bloke is a wanker, trying to sell winamp.

Ice 14th March 2001 02:09

thats not only illegal, thats just wrong.

xapec 14th March 2001 02:29

i use pircay, but just on programs i think the price is rediculous on, like visual studio, but on free programs such as winamp, what the fuck - it's free dont sell it.

NeoRenegade 14th March 2001 03:20

Who's all for capital punishment for illegal use of eBay?

I AM!!! :D

xapec 14th March 2001 03:34

what about the guy who sold his soul on ebay, what do you think about that.
if i knew about it before i would have bought it for the hell (ironic choice of words) of it.

I'm pretty sure all of that can fit on one 74-min cd and fairly easily. Almost all of those programs are very teeny :) And Photoshop's only around 400 megs.

Bizznatch 14th March 2001 06:39

Im thinking about buying one, not for Winamp, but I could REALLY use the MS Office wannabe program on it.

I'll give you guys his name and address so you can send him some hate mail when he sends me it :D

s1138 14th March 2001 10:08

i only pirate those expensive programs too. i mean, adobe photoshop6 is $609!!!! off the website. yeah right, if i had that much money i would be considered rich.

some programs are just too damn expensive

Bizznatch 14th March 2001 10:31

Yeah, and MS Office is 300 freaking dollars. I need it for my CIS class, but I aint got the money and even if I did, I wouldn't pay all that money for a freakin word processor and spreadsheet, not to mention all those other programs that I never use. I can get Photoshop for free anyways, my mom works at a college and she can hook me up. The only thing is, her school still uses PS 4.0.

the setup file is 50 megs.

bonj 14th March 2001 16:58

Oh my setup files were around 100 (for PS6) -- but still I was way off :D

Jstalilwyrd 14th March 2001 17:05

The Cal State program around here offers Office 2000 Pro for $15, I think our school sold out for this... heh, I don't know, just a program they have with Microsoft (so we don't make out copies, blah blah). They're also unlicensed versions till they give us a print out for them. It's $159 or something like that if you're a registered college student, which is still a lot but beats $500+ for it.

Matt 14th March 2001 17:06

Winamp is available free anyway. (Legally as well)

Now there are always people selling 'warez' cd's for £5, £10 etc. EBay or whatever is not the place though.

I'm happy with it. Well for expensive software anyway. CD's full of warez for a few quid, it's a bargain. Saves the effort of downloading it anyway.

not again!... :weird:

Curi0us_George 15th January 2002 07:52

Sorry. :) I got bored and the thread was sort of interesting. I'll let it fade back into oblivion I suppose . . . .

Bilbo Baggins 15th January 2002 08:38

It is amazing how many warez sites actually offer full, free programs like Winamp for download. I think that they must think that people are stupid because it is a full program.

Curi0us_George 15th January 2002 08:44

I know. People host friggin mIRC on fservs. I don't get it.

Bizznatch 15th January 2002 08:57

I actually still check ebay every once in a while to see if some moron is selling Winamp on it. :)

mc^^^^ 15th January 2002 09:45

hehehe. the thing has now dissapeared from ebay, wonder why?

Bizznatch 15th January 2002 10:17

because it was back in March 2001 :p

Look at the date of the thread, it was made back in my early post days, I think I had 30 or 40 when I made this thread :)

Curi0us_George 15th January 2002 11:19

This one is old school. :)

/me goes to sell Notepad and AIM on ebay ;)

The Valkyrie 15th January 2002 11:32

No surprise to me...

I got a BIG software suite on a single CD, which don't work 100% but it's stil a big collection anyway. It includes hacked versions of Opera 4.02, Norton AntiVirus 7.01 Corporate Edition, Jet-Audio Extension, Macromedia Dreamweaver 3.0, and Ulead gif Animator 4.0 Full. But it also includes Winamp 2.65, TweakUI, McAfee Virusscan 5.02 >>Demo<<, MusicMatch Jukebox 5.10.1517 and WinRAR 2.71.

A big pack of packed softwares, with some freewares amidst them.

The Catholic school board in my area gives its students copies of Windows 2000 Professional and other Microsoft goodies (Visual Studio, etc.) for $0. Some kind of initiative for technological learning they inked out with Microsoft.

mc^^^^ 16th January 2002 09:01

i might try sell a "_| /\ ( |< 5 |-| | 7", hehehe dumbasses would probably bid too.

Xerxes 16th January 2002 10:09

E-bay should delete their entire legal notice and just replace it with

---
Rule #1 - No nuclear bombs

Rule #2 - No weapons grade plutonium

Rule #3 - Other than that, "Caveat Emptor"
----

Anyone stupid enough to bid on freeware DESERVES to have their money taken from them IMHO. :hang:

Jet Audio is a media player made by the Korean company Cowon. It's apparently quite popular in Korea, even though the free version is not just an adware, but a SPYWARE (confirmed without doubt by those good guys at Ad-aware). However, you can buy Jet-Audio Extension which has all the features - plus more - with no ads. It's the hardest player to use in the world, but it plays AVIs, MPEG audio $ video, modules, WMAs, bla, bla, bla. Comes with an UNBELIEVABLY low-quality CD-Ripper, but also with a very feature-packed playlist editor and album manager. It has a 20-band EQ with few presets (and you can't make your own). It has no vis, but a couple of fully-customizable spectrum analysers. The main interface is big, chunky, and frustratingly cluttered, but can be replaced by the "Remote mode" which gives you a TV remote control-style interface. Dispite the big looks, it uses even LESS memory than Winamp. No plugins. Overall a very flawed player.

The thing also got some programs I've never heard of like Teleport Pro 1.29.1422, Xara 3D 4.0, Lockdown 2000 4.0.1.3, CPUidle 5.6 and Hurricane 98 3.01

And oh yeah, 98Lite 3.0 Professional - what is it?
