Hi Guys (and Guyesses)
My first post in this forum!
Just recently, whenever I use Winamp (V2.72) with SqrSoft Advanced Crossfading V1.65 i.e. OUT_SQR.DLL it always crashes with the following error message:

WINAMP caused a divide error in module OUT_SQR.DLL at 0157:026d65c5.

Can n-e-1 suggest a remedy (and why it now does this)

Givin up on this one after 6 hours of screwin' around..

I'm using winamp 2.8, and get the same thing, especially if I use the ACF controller, then winamp crashes on startup. Using the latest from the Sqrsoft site. Removing the controller dll will allow winamp to start, but I don't have to play with the plugin long to get a crash. To bad, looked like a good plugin. May have to try the uninstall/reinstall thing, Winamp seems to need that once in a while, I recall haveing a similar problem with it before.

Edit
Well, uninstalled and reinstalled everything, wa2update as well, the ACF plugin seems to function, although not as well as Winamps, testing on Pink Floyd Wall album. After installing the ACF controller, instead of getting error messages, Winamp locks up knob solid. The 3 finger salute wouldn't even bring up task manager, had to fire up ATM and kill it from there. This on WIN98se. Won't be sending any donations to this dude. The disk writer plugin isn't as gapless as one would like either, and unchecking "Write multiple files" has no effect.

Lesson learned, go with whats in the package. Except for Isotope Ozone, liked that one so much I bought it.

Have you tried upgrading your winamp version? The latest version (2.80) comes with the Directsound Experimental Crossfading plugin. It removes the need for an additional crossfade plugin.

I can't believe this thread has been resurrected after so long.

A lot of water has passed under the bridge since I first posted and I have to say that with all sorts of Hardware and Software changes it would be impossible to backtrack the problem.

You can get more info here
FWIW - With my latest setup I am, once again, using SquSoft Advanced Crossfader with great success and no crashes. I can only conclude that it must be some sort of software conflict/glitch that caused it. I do find it a great l'il plugin and better that Nullsoft's own packaged crossfading.

Having said that, there is one irritating new issue.
Every so often it randomly throws up my web-browser at this page http://www.sqrsoft.com.ar/en/donations.html. I guess its a prompt to make a donation.

I don't know what sequence of events causes it, or even if it is intentional or accidental. Its no big deal really as it doesn't crash or anything. But if anyone knows anything about it I'd be interested to know how to stop it doing that.

@ Sled_Dog
Have you tried racking back your hardware acceleration to see if that made any difference to the system crashing - with my limited knowledge, your symptoms sound like driver problems. Have you got the latest video drivers for your system, for example.

I had terrible problems for a while and it took a few months and 3 generations of driver updates from Ati before it all magically cured.
