Can I Change Skins Without Losing Data?

1 Attachment(s)
My Modern Skin has lost the Tree, Album, and Artist windows. (snip attached)

Is it possible to change skins without losing data like the Library. Is there a file where the Library, etc are stored?

Thanks for the help.
Steve

Not sure I understand exactly what you are asking here.. Anyway, have you been able to solve it already?

Thank you for getting back.

My Modern Skin has completely disappeared. I do have the classic skin working and am learning to live with it deficiencies like no tool bar (that I can find) and that I can't make the machine control larger (to fill the screen).

I really love this program but I find it too complicated for it's own good. I bought "Pro" in good faith, What is needed is a basic program with less choices for the non power user who just wants to listen to their music...s

Remember you can choose to not install components unneeded (video or visualization support is usually skipped). Besides that, the UI will be more or less the same, except you can find a simple skin than suit your needs (check DeviantArt and 1001 skins).

Thanks for the thoughts. I'm sorry to be such a Luddite but when I look for a new skin only "Classic" shows up. How do I get to these skins you mention?...s

NP, I'm glad to help someone discover the world of Winamp skins XD. Download the skin you'd like to try from DeviantArt (here) or 1001 skins (here).
If the downloaded file is a .wal, just double click it and it will auto install.
If it's a zip or a folder you'll have to place it on your skins folder (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Winamp\Skins). Then it will appear on the right click menu (under the Skins section). Or go to preferences - Skins.

Thank you Victhor...

Victhor - thank you, thank you it is a Skins wonderland. Just one Luddite question: Can I go from skin to skin without losing my library data? Thanks again...s

Library files are not touched at all. Anyway, it's always a good idea to do a backup before messing around with your Winamp.
