Encoder hicks

Hi All

I am using 8 mount points with Shoutcast 2.6. The DNAS version is 2.6.0.753.
I have a premium account with Shoutcast and configured 8 stations.
I have put in all valid authhashes

When I change the Server to Public=Always, all my encoders are switching on and off and on and off ........

When I put the Server back to Private, the problems are over.

Working with 8 RadioDJ's version 1.8x and the RadioDJ Streamer.

Anyone here who can help me?

Thanks,

Ronald

Hey,
Kind of sounds like an AAC failure.
Do you use AAC? Have you filed your license and UID?

DutchmanX1960 10th March 2020 19:48

I am streaming MP3 320kbps

LStratmann 10th March 2020 19:48

Have you deposited your license code and your UID?

DutchmanX1960 10th March 2020 19:50

What UID and where do you mean?

LStratmann 10th March 2020 19:53

That you see in your account. Look here: https://radiomanager.shoutcast.com/R...plan/your-plan

DutchmanX1960 10th March 2020 19:54

Yes, I did. I see the stations appearing in the shoutcast directory, but the encoders are bumping on and off.

LStratmann 10th March 2020 19:56

So you put those two items in the config? Do you see anything in the logs from SHOUTcast or from the encoder?

DutchmanX1960 10th March 2020 19:58

Sorry, but I am not quite following you. I created a plan, creaed the stations and authhashes. Put the authhashes in the config of each stream and did put the server on public=always after that.

LStratmann 10th March 2020 20:01

Yeah, but you're hosting the stream, right? Do you have any logs of why the encoder is permanently losing connection? It's a new problem.

To unlock the Premium features, add the following lines (using the above values) to your sc_serv.conf configuration file: userid=YOURUSERID licenceid=YOURLICENCEID

I think you mean this.

I am just a user of a Shoutcast Server, provided by a hosting party.

I did try it twice last week, so I have to check if there are any logs IO can find.
Can I edit the sc_serv.conf myself?

DutchmanX1960 10th March 2020 20:20

I have asked my service provider to change the Servconf. Thanks for your help :)

DutchmanX1960 12th March 2020 12:51

The server.conf is adjusted. I thought everything was going ok now, but after a few minutes the hickup problems started again. You can see the encoders disconnecting and connecting working 5 seconds and then disconnecting and connecting again, and again, and again ....

Anybody who knows how to solve this problem?

NJK 12th March 2020 13:09

hows the bandwidth at the service provider
how about a trace to the service provider or ask them to provide you with info that the problem isn't on their side?

and is your upload enough to provide the signal to that service provider?

DutchmanX1960 12th March 2020 13:18

When the Server is Private there are no problems.
Bandwidth is not an issue, not on my side and neither on the provider side.

settings?

if the hick ups are not there when the setting is private and when they are there if it's public it isn't a shoutcast issue but most likely a problem in the configuration on the host side

I downgraded to DNAS 2.5 and replaced the auto hashes. Everything is fine now.
