This is a minor suggestion from 2.73 that I thought might be important.
I think that when you open a directory in an empty playlist and then play the list in Shuffle Play mode, it always (e.g. from day to day) plays the same song first. Let me know if I'm just imagining things. Steve |
Haha, so my computer's not the only one smoking crack :p I've had this weird problem for quite a long time now, maybe since 2.0 or something. I don't think its done it lately though. Maybe it stopped when I formatted and installed Win2K. But it used to be whenever I right-clicked on my MP3 folder and chose "Play in Winamp", it would *always* play Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train first, no matter what, shuffle or no shuffle. This was always a source of amusement to my friends ;)

That is very odd. I will have to try it sometime. I never have such problems because I never close WA, just stop it from time to time.

My winamp is psychic, if I'm thinking of a song it'll come on.
|
I have actually experienced that effect before. It is kinda random when it does it, but it does happen.
|
I have noticed that too, but I have also noticed that winamp 2x seems to play the songs that I listen to most often when I have it on shuffle. Coincidence? Maybe or maybe not, but I kind of like that feature if it's not a coincidence because I don't have to keep hitting skip for songs I don't like.

I have pretty much overcome the anomaly by having playlists that are more than 100 hours. If any pattern emerges, I have forgotten. Not to mention, I sometimes want to listen to a certain album, so I turn shuffle off, let it play through that album and then turn it back on.

winamp doesn't have much of a problem. Sonique seems to have a huge problem with this: after hearing about 25% of the playlist you know you're gonna hear a song over again. Winamp is a good deal nicer than this.
