I'm using Skinner to make my skins, but I want more freedom. This program won't allow me to edit the buttons or cursors.
I've downloaded the base skin for Winamp, but anytime I make any changes to the bitmaps, then zip them up and put it in my skins folder, the base skin still shows up without my changes. What am I doing wrong? I'm thinking it has something to do with the text files, because I haven't edited them. Don't know exactly how.
Can someone please help me?

I read it. Apparently there is something in there I'm missing. I have all the things I need, and I make all the changes I want to my bitmaps and cursors, but when I zip them, the base skin is still showing up. I don't get it. I don't see how it's using bitmaps that aren't even in the zip file.

base skin doesn't require a skin, its pulling them from the program its self. Make sure you have the names on the bitmaps its self right. Also, you don't have to keep zipping them, you can just keep them in a sub-dir of the skind dir while working on it.
