Hi, when i startup Winamp 2.74 in Enqueue, it gives me a message saying:
Missing Shortcut Windows is searching for HLP to locate the file click Browse. I reinstalled the program but the message still came up, i have also reinstalled Win98, this rectified the problem, but after a while this message came up. I think it is because i deleted a file of some sort on my drives, but i don't know why it would appear when start Enqueue. I rightclick on my windows START button to Enqueue and each time this message shows up, i don't know which HLP file it is so i can't browse to find, is there a solution to this. Thanks for any feedback. |
Wionamp (well, windows) follows all links, like when you use enqueue. You have a dead link, find it and delete it. it's not a winamp thing.

Rt clicking the start button to Enqueue in Winamp is not the proper way to open Winamp. Use the Desktop or Start -> Programs shortcut, or Start -> Run -> Winamp.
Personally, I use the IE QuickLaunch toolbar (next to start button). To Create a shortcut to Winamp here: goto "C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch" File menu -> new -> shortcut -> C:\Program Files\Winamp\Winamp.exe By clicking enqueue on Start button, what you're doing in effect, is enqueuing the dir "C:\Windows\Start Menu" to play in Winamp. All that is in this dir is shortcuts ( LNK files) to programs & their relative documentation (exe / hlp / txt links). Dead links anywhere in this dir (including all subdir's) can cause Winamp (or any other program, including Windows itself) a whole heap of problems! If you want, you can place a shortcut to your music folder in this dir, left click Start button, then rt click the shortcut -> Enqueue. To create the shortcut, in Windows Explorer, hi-lite your music dir -> copy Then goto Start Menu dir -> Edit menu -> paste shortcut. As you can see, there's many better ways to open Winamp. |
