Why would my winamp be,"unable to create direct sound object"? It just started all of the sudden, I hadn't changed anything but the song. It froze my whole computer. And now it wont play songs I was listening to this morning.
Every time I try it gives me the same error message!

Try these, in the following order:

1. Go to Preferences (Ctrl-P) -> Pulgins -> Select "Nullsoft waveOut plug-in..." -> Close.

2. Go to Preferences (Ctrl+P) -> Output -> DirectSound -> Configure
Change the Output Device from the drop down menu to one that best describes your soundcard.

3. Update DirectX

u can't reinstall a sound card..

arg someone tell him how/wut
