When I insert a CD into my drive, Winamp pops up like it is supposed to. But when it starts to play the song, there is no sound! How do I fix that? By the way, I do not have any other problems with playing mp3's out of Winamp from napster it is only the CD's that have no sound.

Thank you.

The first thing to try is the CD Reader Plugin:

Thank you

Thank you once again ethan_h!!!

Wrong.

The first thing you should've done was make sure the cd volume wasn't muted.

(If it actually was, and you didn't.. the CD Reader plugin would've seemed to solve your problem, since it plays audio through wave out.)

heh...

From experience, 95% of the time the CD Reader plugin will solve this type of problem. What I suggested worked, simple as that. By the way, why do you keep insisting on replying to threads that have already been answered, and verified, and that I for one would consider closed???

Actually...

As a matter of fact ethan_h was right. As soon as I installed the CD Reader and pushed a CD in it worked. I am smarter than to say something like that with out checking the volume first.

"As a matter of fact ethan_h was right."

I didn't say he wouldn't be, special_k; I was just saying that as a matter of procedure, that would've been the first thing to check.

"By the way, why do you keep insisting on replying to threads that have already been answered, and verified, and that I for one would consider closed???"

I don't really see what you mean, ethan_h.. and I don't see why it would matter if I was.

I Understand

I understand your "matter of procedure" and that is exactly what i did. I checked the volume first and then i asked what i should do. :D
