I can play CDs thru Winamp via my DVD player but not my internal CDRW. The strange thing is Windows Media Player can play from either drive so I presume all the mixer settings are OK. I use the Soundblaster Live card. I'm confused!

Probably because your CD-ROM supports "digital playback", which means that if needed windows CD player can play through the processor instead of the soundcard. It is, however a major memory waste.
Winamp's CD input plugin doesn't do dogital playback. It seems your DVD-ROM is the drive connected to the soundcard and since only one drive can be connected the CD-RW is not. |
