Whenever I try to go to a different page in IE by either clicking on a link or typing in the address manually the songs in winamp slow down.

In Winamp, go to PREFERENCES (CTRL-P) -> PLUGINS -> OUTPUT -> "Nullsoft Waveout plugin2 -> CONFIGURE and increase the buffer length and the block size. This should make an improvement.
