My Car CD player does not play MP3's or WAV on a burned cd. I burned CDA music no problem it played those. I converted a regular tape in to an MP3 file and burned and it didnt work in my car but no problem on my computer. I then recopied that tape into a wav file same thing no problem on my computer but did not work in my car. I dont understand it. I also made sure that my settings were correct and they were acoording to winamp recording. Can someone help

There a re a lot of "iffy" factors in your post.

First, does the CD that you areated play on your home CD player?? If it does, then there isn't much you can do, some car stereos won't read CD-R.

When you created this CD, what exactly did you do?? It sounds to me that you simply copied mp3s onto a blank CD and tried to play it. That didn't work so you copied wav files onto another CD and that didn't work either.

This CD will play perfectly in your computer because it is able to decode mp3 and wav files. A standard CD player can't.

In order to create a music CD from your mp3s you need to select "Create Audio CD2 within your burning software, and copy your files down. Your burning software converts then into a Cd that your CD player can understand.

If you post back explaining in more detail exactly what you did, then maybe we can put you on the right track.

Your car's CD player is probably just like any conventional audio CD player. They only play audio CDs. :D

Does anybody know of a car CD player that plays MP3s from data CDs?

Aiwa's CDC-MP3 player has the ability to play MP3's burned on CD. You can also hook it up to the CD changer, so you can have 6 mp3 disks at hand.

I heard that there's a game shark-like thing for the psx that allows it to read mp3 cd's. Is that true?

ecstatic 21st May 2001 21:38

Yeah, it's this thing.

NeoRenegade 22nd May 2001 02:17

And they call it psxAMP. Cute. Got lawyers guys? Do they have the right to call it that? It's not a WA port to PSX, that's for sure.

Anyway, let me get this straight, this guy thought he could play MP3's or WAV's on a normal stereo?

Pardon me for a moment...

Why? The amp in Winamp isn't in caps, and amp is a standard abbreviation for amplifier, amplified, or amplification, as well as a standard metric measure... not like Nullsoft has the term "amp" trademarked.

NeoRenegade 22nd May 2001 07:54

Not like whatever company has the name Barney trademarked but they still harass people for making those online "punch Barney" things, not matter how much they alter the image to not resmble the fat purple bastard.

rm' 22nd May 2001 08:02

Barney is trademarked the same way Mickey and Donald are.

rm' 22nd May 2001 08:05

Besides, the thing is called psxAMP, not Winamp. It would be like saying it's illegal to name a cartoon character BARNard, because there is already a character named Barney.
