The soundcard on my new computer is a crappy C-Media card. It's only worth $20 and guess what?
1) It sucks for MIDI 2) It seems to always think when there is a joystick that button 5 is constantly being pressed, which makes the joystick useless for most purposes because every time you try and assign a button in a game, it makes it button 5 (even if it's a 2- or 4-button joystick!). I really need help with this piece of shit. It's a CMI8738 and I just got the latest drivers for it. Any suggestions before I set it on fire and throw it out the window? |
No... Just go ahead and torch the bitch :p

Already did that. I can live with the MIDI problem...
So I guess either I can get $30 and get a new soundcard, or return the joystick I just bought and get one that's $10 more that uses the USB port. Is USB what SideWinderPads or GamePadPros use? Because those are the only choices for joystick that I have other than generic and COM/LPT ones on my SNES emulator. |

BTW, using the Force Feedback Wheel in "Need for Speed" to drive on gravel roads is good therapy -- constant shakin' relaxes your tense shoulder. :D |
Try getting the "Wingroove" shareware (or cracked freeware if you are party to such evil ;) )set of MIDI instruments- they are the best non SB thing you can get :) (I use them on the my Aureal- GO AUREAL ;) )

Would Xerxes be promoting the pirating of software on these here forums? Naughty Xerxes *smack wrist*
