I'm not sure whether or not these are 'WINAMP-as-designed' ...I use Winamp in the standard size & stacked configuration (Main Screen over the Equalizer over the Playlist). 1)When I place the cursor over some of the buttons in the lower part of the Main Display (w/o clicking), the descriptor info box appears, but BEHIND the Equalizer screen...how can I get the info box to show on top? 2)Also, if I left click to 'highlight' a track on the Playlist & then hit the PLAY button on the Main Display (intuitively the way I would think it would work), a different track starts...the only way I can play a track I select is to left double click, or rt-click & select PLAY...PS: THIS IS NOT A "COMPLAINT".. WINAMP is an excellent product...Tx,

The highlighted-song-in-playlist thing you pointed out is not a bug. As you correctly stated, you can play the song by double-clickign it or right-clicking it and selecting Play. Why would the makers of our beloved WinAMP put 3 ways to do the same thing? 3 is a bit too much imho :)

And as for the other complaint, as far as I know, that Tool Tips problem has been around forever. But if you're like me, and you've been using Winamp for over 2 years, you soon realize that you don't even need to see the tool tips any more. I think I disabled them some time back in 1999 (Prefs -> Display -> uncheck "Use Tool Tips") :)
The choice is entirely yours, but I definitely agree that this really should've been fixed a long time ago! |
'Not Sure...'
Tx for the prompt replies...NeoR: not to beat a dead llama, but in the short time I've been using WA, I started to view it as a 2D version of a real stereo...'intuitively' then, using my mouse controlled 'finger'I hit PLAYLIST (like a touchpad) to select a track, then 'press' the PLAY button... DJE: PREFS-DISP-unchk "Use Tool Tips"....molto bene & grazie
