if you pick a font that you have, but most others dont, would it show up as a default font? if so, bundling the font with the skin should work, right? of course they would have to install it for it to work.

Right. They have to actually install the font into C:\Windows\Fonts for it so show up in the skin. Otherwise it will just use Arial.
