I looked at the info on how to make a skin, but got stuck on the first step (painting the base.) Do I have to do it pixel by pixel? Or can I just paste a picture over it somehow without covering all the data screens up?

Will someone please help? I just want to know how to get started making a skin.

The base skin (main.bmp) has a lot of unimportant parts. Basically as a base skin you can just use a picture, and then skin all the function buttons' BMP's however you want. Then to make it blend nicely you just have to make little cosmetic retouches to the base skin and the functions.

Of course if merely starting a skin is a real problem for you maybe you should get WinAMP Skin Maker, let it do the skin, and then hand-edit the individual BMP's.

Go here for the winamp tutorial.

Or go to Jayn's site for a tutorial, and more links.
