I am running 2.75 under win 98. My system is a P2-350. The problem is that it crashes constantly, hanging the entire system. Sometimes it does it when it is loading up and sometimes when it has played a track or two. Sometimes in between.

I have just re-installed windows and it would appear that this isn't the problem as it hasn't gone away. I never had any problems with older versions of winamp.

Has anyone else got this problem? Has anyone else got a solution to this problem?

Cheers in advance

Soundcard & videocard details?
Got the latest drivers?
Installed any 3rd party plugins? If so, are any of them active?
What else is running in the background/foreground/systray?
ScanDisk & VirusChecker report any problems?
What version of DirectX ?
Start -> Run -> dxdiag (DirectX Diagnostic Tool)
Any problems listed in any of the tabs?
Any conflicts listed in System CPL -> Device Manager?
(individual devices -> properties -> resources tabs)
What filetypes does the crash occur with? (eg. mp3, wav, mid, AudioCD, etc.)
