I dreamed that I was on a computer, and I double-clicked on what looks like a Sonique-style twisty vortexy thing logo, except it's not purple and green, but reddish orange and yellow, and it doesn't say "Sonique" under it, but something else I could hardly remember. It started loading some program, and suddenly this reddish-pink with tints of orange alien "hedgehog" thing appeared on the desktop. Even stranger was that it wasn't a flat bitmap like today's music players, but totally rotatable 3D object, floating around on the screen.

It floated around is if it was in space, bouncing off corners of the screen and seemed to have some lighting effects. I clicked on it, and the thing opened up to reveal a pinkish orb inside. When I clicked on the orb, I began to hear electronic music, and the orb pulsates. I clicked on the orb again, and it bounced off into a completely different direction as the hedgehog thing, and bounced off the corners of the screen and back into the grasp of the "hedgehog". I clicked on the hedgehog, and dragged it, and it stopped "drifting in space" and rotated with my cursor.

It then showed me a strange symbol on its back, and when I clicked on it, a totally 3D DNA thing came up at the right edge of the screen. I knew straight away this was the playlist editor, as I click-dragged the individual "nucleotides" to manage the playlist. Suddenly I woke up from the dream.

Was I dreaming about the future of MP3 players? I don't know, but I'm sure like to see this thing on my real-life screen. So please, Team Sonique, Nullsoft, do not give in to the greed of your corporate masters, don't be like Blizzard (Starcraft) and products featured on Home Shopping Network, where they make mediocre stuffs and, through the use of marketing, make millions out of it, ANED CREATE THIS THING!

One word... Shrooms.

Ah, all this is just a slightly different presentation of functionality that today's Winamp already has, just the "logical next step", e.g. when the 3D screen becomes widely available, someone would naturally develop a 3D MP3 player interface. There's no innovation involved.

A truly groundbreaking futuristic idea for Nullsoft: Make brain implants! So we'll "remember" whatever piece of music we'd like to, without even having to physically hear it. A good candidate to test the prototype on would be Mike the Llama. :D

Get some sleep, don't stare into the computer screen for too long, got out with friends, have a party, lend your computer to some else for a month, watch WWF and ponder why those WWF people went through mental and physical torture to entertain people around the world!!! ;)

How about making a plugin for Winamp that does exactly that??!! Then we wouldn't have to wait for the real thing. Like I said, I want this thing to become a reality.
