it goes like this: my hp pavillion was suffereing from a year worth of crap + windows. so i try to recover, with provided disks. it keeps freezing wen i tell it to start. so, do any of you know what's wrong/how 2 fix it?

Did you try to run the recovery procedure from within your fscked-up Windows? Is the CD-ROM supposed to be bootable and you can do a clean install from that? |
the recovery cd is bootable. i got it to work. if it hadnt worked, i wouldda formatted and then done it.

it brought up a friggin million windows for me. they wouldnt stop, and there were errors in the windows that opened. oh well.
