... I mean the real-life desktop, not the Windows/Mac/X-Windows one...

Mine is here: http://www.demyth.net/img/mydesktop.jpg

It features:
  • Loads of CDs on the shelf, awaiting processing by CDex
  • A Sony CD/MD Mini-Hifi
  • A Philips fluorescent desk lamp. It's damned bright. Good for midnight interrogation sessions.
  • My trusty old PII 450, good enough for playing Need for Speed with...
  • A Force-Feedback Wheel, while the occasional guest can duel it out with me using the...
  • Force-Feedback Joystick
  • Logitech Cordless Desktop (mouse and keyboard)
  • Box upon box of all computer software/hardware I've ever purchased. I can't bear throwing them away. Such cute boxes.
Excuse me for bragging incoherently, but I'll be leaving my home town (Hong Kong) on 10 July for two years and I'm snapping photos like mad now. :)

Note that there's two CD drives in my computer.. take a guess at what one of them is. I didn't draw my 50 cd cake because it's in that little storage area on the right and not visible..

Actually I still keep a few floppies around. They come in handy if your computer crashes and you need a boot disk. (Yes I know you can create bootable CD's but floppies are easier).

And I would post a picture of my workspace, but I'd need a panoramic camera. (And a decent webhosting site). ;)

Oh I also have an el cheapo RCA digital camera that I used to take those pictures. It makes everything look bigger. Hmmmm, that gives me an idea. ;) Anyway, that space is 4' x 4' and I'm 2' x 2', so it seems small. :)

Adasha 6th July 2001 17:46

Obviously my say so isn't enough to prove mine's the coolest... :)

OK. my PC is on a low table with a short stool. Over the top is a sturdy table which is home to two turntables and a mixer. So if I sit down I'm on my PC, if I stand up I'm mixing!

To the left is my TV/video and to the right is a keyboard, synths and samplers etc. All hooked into my audio setup with some nice speakers flanking the window and a self-built sub tube behind the chair opposite.

Oh, all this is in a special room. None of that 'bedroom' rubbish. Fingers crossed I'll get a spare projector from the club I work at and use it for films. :D

Christ though - you should see the mess of cabling it took to wire all that up.

And no camera. :(

s1138 6th July 2001 17:57

you got the same remote as me? did you get it at circuit city?:D
