Cd's won't play

My CD's won't play in either Winamp or Windows CD Player. I tried everything you suggested to Meteor11 but none of it worked. The weird thing is that CD's play in another player (Burning software, and Media player)
I don't get it, any suggestions

Please define "won't play"
eg. Does the CD load okay and look as though it's playing, but you just can't hear anything?

Have you checked the volume levels?
(Volume slider in main Winamp window/main & CD volume sliders in Windows Vol Ctrl)

Have you tried : Main Menu -> Play -> Audio CD ?

Have you tried replacing the default analog CD input plugin with the digital CDReader plugin?
Be sure to read the accompanying text file for instructions on how to enable it.

Do other filetypes play okay in Winamp? (eg. MP3, WAV, MID, WMA, etc)

btw, the thread you referred to is here

If the problem persists, please provide some sys specs in your reply, eg.
CPU+speed, RAM, CD-ROM device, Soundcard, Windows OS, DirectX version, etc.

thanks

Thanks, the plugin did the trick
To clarify, winamp would try to play the CD, the track timer would count, but there was no sound. All other file formats supported would play. I appreciate your help:)
