every skin with it's own winampmb.htm file

Why not making your skins with their own customized wianmpmb.htm file?
Let's tell Llama to make winamp unzip this htm file from every skin!

BullGawD 25th August 2001 23:27

confused...

Most of us do skin for that. And yes it would be nice if winamp did that by default. It would be nice if winamp did a lot of things by default. But don't hold your breath now that WA3 is in the works... Thats much more likely to garner attenion than any nitpicky 2.x feature.

Actually if you include a winampmb.txt file in your zip and the person who downloaded the skin keeps their internet connection option turned on in winamp, you will find quite a few skins already do include custom MBinner's (as they're called around here). Not everyone is savvy on html tho( and takes a bit to get used to using a program) so don't count on it becoming a regular feature for skinners to include. I just recently started including them in my skins after putting it off for so long cause. Imho, it really does complete the mb so you don't have to look at the winamp page or "this page can not be found". lol.

That's not quite true Mrs B, the mbinner files and so on, do work yes, but only if you are using the MikroAMP plugin, by default winamp will always take you to winamp.com if it detects internet conditons, or the default winamp.lks file if no internet is present.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh :o I completely forgot it was connected to Mikro (Sorry! TheMIKE! ) I knew I loved that gadget for a reason, adding that one to the list! Thanks Jonesy ;)

Sorry plastique, I'm pretty sure the rest is true tho, lol. Then again.....

Mr Jones 25th August 2001 23:43

No problemo.

hey jones is that you on the front page of winamp by your article?

Lucid DM 26th August 2001 00:40

On my last skin I put in a really simple MBinner. It's also the first time I've done a Mikro skin. I just did it really simple. I mean, I know HTML and I never use a WYSIWYG editor 'cos I like to type everything up by hand, but I think doing too much gimmicky stuff is over the top. I just put in the skin's logo and my name.http://www.mear.fsnet.co.uk/grinblue.gif
Maybe oncemy website is up, I'll start including the adress.

No, Winamp don't like posting the real pictures of their contributers. They usually pick some poor, good for nothing slob of skidrow, and give him $100 for his picture.:D
