18 seconds to load Winamp??
 

I thought I'd give Winamp another go after reading the news about Soniques troubles:(
I got 2.76 and it takes Winamp 18 seconds from double clicking a file until it shows the interface and starts playing. Whats that all about?? I used to use Winamp all the time (before I changed my config to something that causes it to skip when I use IE) and it never used to load slow.

BTW, I have no plugins whatsoever.

Unless your computer is older then dirt I would re-install, adn defraggign your hard drive would help usuallly

Actually I'm too lazy to reinstall it so I just deleted the ini file but it did the same job:)

deleting that ini also stopped Winamp skipping. I must have had some setting in there wrong somewhere.

You must have had a sh!tload of DSP/Effect plugins active.

I installed Winamp with non of the visualisations and have never downloaded any plugins. All I do is sit it in the bottom right corner of my screen in minimal mode -I even turned off that tiny visualisation it display between 'Winamp' and the track time.
