Avatar Week
 

OK gang, beginning now, we have a week to give avatars a trial.
Please adhere to the rules and be responsible for your choosings.
If not, we'll lose this priviledge and likely will not receive anymore perks. Size is limited to 50 X 50 pixels.
I've included this poll to evaluate them, so please be honest.

I think as long as it doesn't get abused and people dont do any stupid crap, it's just one more stupidly fun thing. It lets you give yourself some kinda "personal" touch, (and hopefully reduces the headache over custom titles). Ey, its all good.

By the way, to choose your avatar, go to "My Control Panel", choose "Edit Options", avatar info is at the bottom.

I don't think we should have them. It's just like having two sigs. And you know there's always gonna be some people with huge ones. It's just gonna be another useless thing that the mods have to waste more time on patrolling.

If you really want an avatar, put it in yer sig.

Then again... I do see the attraction of having something in your title area...

Here's the thing, you can't have huge ones! It's limited to 50x50 or
20kb. This is the way sigs should be. Theoridicly I could have 50mb
.jpg sig that takes two monitors just to view. Up with avatars!

but if sigs were made that way then we wouldnt be able to put text or links into them, or if we could it would be more complicated than how it is now, and most people if thier sig is too big when asked to change it they usually do.

i tried out an avatar for a few minutes. then i realized.... well i didn't realize anything. i just think the avatars make the boards even more clutered.

choose one. sig or avatar. just my 3 cents.

Well... I have a little one line sig pointing to my (horrenedously out-of-date, more in a minute) FAQ. So I don't see what the problem with a 50x50 image would be in my case. And like they said, you can turn them off.

About the FAQ, I've been opening the network at the school I work for, and I don't want to look at a computer when I get home.

Mods: If I update the faq this weekend, can someone add me to the sticky?

Normally I wouldn't bother with setting up an avatar myself...

But then I saw the Broncos logo and well... something came over me ;)

and your sig is the same thing, that's just stupid. F.Y.I. my avatar
does match my sig since my handle is qhobbes so i put of pic hobbes.

i just use my sig for update announcements on my skin

i like my sig, and my avatar, there both different, its good to see what people can do with them, and it adds a "homely" feeling to the board.

My avatar is just a cool pic.

My sig is cool cause i think it looks cool and it has my skin downloads and my e-mail in it. Plus i use it for updates. It fits heaps of stuff into small space, thats why i like it.

what do you think?

P.S. --RIKKI--'s is the best sig. But his avatar is crap.

That's your opinion, i really like rikkis sig....

i know my avatar is crap it was threw 2gether really quickly, (i didnt wanna spend loads a time on it just to find out they got banned after a week, my sig serves the purpose that i want it to. it shows the MikroAMP skins of my skins for winamp2.x (allthough not all of them have a mikro or are updated fully,) with links to the skins.

i wanted to have links to all my skins in my sig i thought that would be the best way to do it.

No, they're both correct grammar, it's just a matter of what they mean. "Could care less" implies that you care at least some, as you could, in fact, care less. "Couldn't care less" implies that you don't care at all, as it would be impossible for you to care any less. I'll never understand how that one got so common, as you're actually saying the opposite of what you mean.
