MP3s sound high speed
Whenever I play MP3s on my machine with Winamp, they sound like they are playing in high speed. Kinda like when a record is played at a faster than intended speed. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

First thing to check is to make sure the correct Output plugin for normal playback is selected in Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Output.
This should be either "Nullsoft WaveOut" or "Nullsoft DirectSound". If you've installed any 3rd party DSP/FX plugins which affect pitch & tempo, goto Prefs -> DSP/FX and select "None". If same thing happens when you try to play mp3's in other players (eg. WMP) Then you need to install the correct & latest drivers for your soundcard. Though I've got a sneaky feeling you don't even have a proper soundcard, but an onboard integrated soundchip instead . . . yes, no, maybe? You may also have to upgrade DirectX drivers. Of course, full sys specs certainly wouldn't go amiss! Check this thread for more info: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....threadid=46306 |
