.zip to .wsz
1 Attachment(s)
i've skinned a total of three(3) times and there is plenty of downtime between each upload of a new skin.my question is ...how do you convert your zip file to the wsz file, again?i tried to do it with win.explorer and with the dos prompt,i got a file named xxx.zip.wsz and told invalid directory, respectively.
now ,obviuosly,i've had to have done it before,or my skins would'nt have been posted, but clearly i am missing some very small and yet very important step. i would also like to mention that it was suggested that i enable file extentions in windows explorer,so itried it and it resulted in the above explanation. at the risk of sounding dense, could someone PLEASE spell out the steps of converting a .zip to an .wsz? thank you in advance to all who reply and especially to those with the pertinent info. I don't know exactly what you want us to tell you, but under a windows operation system, all I do is click on the file, and rename it by deleting "zip" and typing "wsz" instead and they click off and it should become a winamp skin. Is that what you're looking for?

i know there was a tutorial with pictures by greek_mp3, but the forum search doesn't seem to work for older threads

my OS is windows 98.when i am in windows explorer, and i click on the zip file,it doesn't bring up the name of the file with it's flie extention.what i am saying is that i cannot change the file extention.you have told me the same thing others told me ,so i'm assuming i'm missing some core info like"explorer settings for file extentions"which i looked for and could not find ,or maybe an anknown window registry setting,i don't know
understand that i work in an computer cafe, and while i'm not a webmaster, moderator or tecnichal prodigy,i am a bit more knowledgeable than the average joe,so to speak this is not a boast.i say it to illustrate to you my level of skill with windows,so that you may better assist me. now,PLEASE,step-by-step,how is the .zip to .wsz conversion done?:o |
o.k. i don't have an englisch os, so maybe some some options are called different than in my translation...
start explorer > goto view > folder options > view > files and folders > uncheck the box 'don't show file extensions for known filetypes' again these are rough translations from a foreign windows, but you should be able to find it |
