Connect-X is lovely, but I just couldn't stand the connections...
 

I recently found Connect-X, and found it really nice. Really nice. I am very impressed with a skin that's this simple colour-wise but still elegant and relaxing to look at. It's also rather good to use (although not quite as splendid as Steel This Amp, but I digress).

There is however one thing about the skin that I didn't really like -- the fact that the playlist/equalizer/main window are interconnected statically, so that you'll have to place them all on top of each other. I rarely have the equalizer open, so I found that a bit annoying.

So, I made a few adjustments, and I just thought I'd show it off. I called the whole thing Connect-X_Segmentation, just to differentiate it from the original. There are a few extra tweaks besides removing the interconnecting parts, too. When running without the main window visible (Alt+W), the scope/frequency analyzer popped out one pixel into the right edge of the red square in the playlist, so I reduced the frame to one pixel to avoid this (which also fit with the theme). There are minor additions to the text under the play buttons and the look of the equalizer as well.

I've attached a screenshot of my changes (the standard screenshot.gif, included in the .wsz). If there's any interest, and with permission from skinme! I'll post the .wsz, too.

did u ask skinme! if u could make this? if not, it's a rip and theres no purpose in publishing it b/c it will be removed

So, here I am. Yes, there's an e-mail address listed, too, but I didn't figure this as a big deal -- the skin is still unpublished. I'm of course prepared to take down the screenshot if skinme! would ask me to do so.

And I'm not proposing that this is a big difference, rather a fix for a great skin with a few annoying bits and pieces.
