Charity

Today the Theater I manage at held a charity relief fund today. All the money that the theater made today from Box Office and Concession sales went to the New York/DC Disaster Relief fund. Today we made over $1,800 that the owner, Paul, donated to that organization. I think this was a very good idea, I'm sure alot of other places did the same thing and gave a good amount of money to this organization.

Also, on Monday when I was watching football, at halftime 4 players, 2 from the Jets and 2 from the 49ers, donated $500,000 to the disaster relief fund! That's a lot of money. :)

I would like to thank anyone who has given any amount of money to the disaster relief fund.

:)

that's nothing, they make wayyyyy more than that that's like petty change for them

that's great that ur movie theatre did that, ur manager is a nice guy, that little number probably cost him quite a bit.. (i mean by the fact that he makes no money that day)

That's cool Bizz, there are a lot of decent people digging deep to help, but then on the other hand, read this from my local newspaper, a story of what happened to the local firefighters over here while they were doing there bit to help....

Some people bring a whole new meaning to the word lowlife.

creed - christian metal band (if u live in the US u *will* have heard of them) donated $50,000, and pledged to match dollar for dollar any donations made through them, to the charity looking after children orphaned by the tragedy

Dr. Dre gave a million bucks http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/144...20/story.jhtml

everyone's been giving through their noses for this
it's good

at my school they set up a container in the office to collect donations, and by the end of the first day it was overflowing

most bands are donating some, or all, of the proceeds from tours to helping

and some ppl have been taking advantage of ppl's generosity by setting up phony charities

Huehuetenango 3rd October 2001 20:21

sorry about the double post

Bilbo Baggins 3rd October 2001 21:25

And are they paying through their noses for the innocents in Afghanistan?

No.

I have donated money and clothes (the guys working on the sites needed clean t-shirts to wear while working at ground zero and I donated a box of 72 new ones). My son donated money also. He has a big heart, he only gets 3.00 a week, and handed money over very quickly.

Have a good night all.
