how to find out if it will be thought of as a rip
basically, i'm working on a new skin, and really like it, but i'm worried about posting it, and then being accused of it being a rip, since looking at it, it could be seen as similar to some skins (the colour scheme: black, blue and red)
(note: it ISN"T a rip, i spent all yesterday working on it) so, waht i'm wondering is: is there any way to find out if my skin is a rip, other than by being accused by another person after it's posted? |
I'm not sure what you're asking...(If you made it yourself it CAN'T be a rip), so I'll assume you mean to ask if there is any way that you could prove your skin is authentic after (possibly) have been accused of ripping by someone else in the future...
1. don't rip, or borrow stuff in the first place. 2. Post your skin simultaniously at diff skin sites, especially on winamp.com, but also at 1001, deviantart etc. 3. Put your name in the readme.txt 4. Some bmp's of the skin have blank, unused areas (Eqmain.bmp etc)...put your name/logo here. That's about it |
You can also post a screenshot here, and update that as you go along. Can't have too many witnesses. :p

thanks for the ideas guys
sorry if i wasn't clear before, i meant that my skin, though wholly original appears very similar to one that is on the site, and the author of said skin accusses me of ripping it, even though i hadn't even seen it before |
could you post links so we can see if they're really that similar?
