Creative Speakers Not working

I cannot get my 4 piece creative speakers to work. only the front two work. I am running XP right now and i've tried ll of the drivers for 2000 but still nothing works. I've seen the posts about using directSound, but that doesn't work for me either. If anyone has any idea, please let me know.

What formats? All (eg. MP3, WAV, etc) or is it just with Audio CD's?
