File Names and ID Tags -playlist problem.

hello all,

i was wondering. i just recently upgraded my winamp from what version im not sure to the new full version 2.77...i have a slight problem.

my playlist used to run off of id tags and file names with no id tag.
it seems that with this new version of winamp i cant have the playlist entry be the file name, it seems to demand an id tag from me.

does anyone know what im talking about?
is this a winamp problem that can be fixed?
am i screwed, and now have to add id tags to hundreds of songs?

as well the playlist seems to reload song times and names eveytime i scroll up or down on the playlist. really annoying and it makes my compu bug out.

winamp was the only player i dealt with that let me use both id tags and file names, id love to go back to those days if i can hell id even dl an old version.

any help is greatly appreciated.

N.

Well, this should be taken c/o by the default settings, but maybe there's a conflicting setting somewhere in your old winamp.ini (especially possible if you simply installed straight over the old version)

Goto: Prefs -> Input -> MPEG Audio Decoder -> config -> title tab

Title formatting (default) = %7 (file name)

Use ID3 tags = checkmarked
(uncheck to totally disable ID3 display)

Title formatting (when ID3 tag present)
Default = %1 - %2 (artist - title)

Set it up to your liking ;)

btw, all versions are available @ www.winampheaven.da.ru
