Hey...

Just wanted to drop a line...just recently got into Winamp skinning, also just submitted my first one, it's a Slipknot one...got sick of all of the skins where it looks like the makers didn't use any brains to create them...mine really isn't something all too special, but check it out when it's posted, it'll be called 47 - Slipknot - 47...i'll be around...

KiwiFreak 30th October 2001 21:48

Post a screen shot of your skin cause it will take around 3 to 4 weeks to be published.

By posting a screen shot we can at least give our thoughts.

Ciao:cool:

dude, its a skinner.exe skin. therefore, its poo in my mind. try using mspaint to edit those bitmaps and customize the buttons. the skinner just give them shitty see-though buttons that dont give aesthetic value to the skin

i know it's a skinner.exe skin, i have done a lot of psp6 customization on it from what the skinner gave me, it's not finished, i still have some work to do on it, i'm trying to see if i can get the broswer to open up my own mb file right now...thanks for the feedback though...

Purity, download Mikroamp and write an HTML file and name it winampmb.txt and place it in the director/zip/wsz of your skin. Mikroamp will look for it and default to that page.

OR

You can write a file called mb.ini in which you will have to read up on cause damn if I can ever remember what you're supposed to write in there

Purity 31st October 2001 02:54

Awsome thanks...i did some drop shadowing and other little things to make buttons and such stand out better, so it doesn't look like just a transparent layer..it's getting there...thanks...

KiwiFreak 31st October 2001 03:30

The problem with this skin is that unless you make drastic changes to it...it will always look like a skinner.exe skin (and you'll always take flak for using a skinner).

My suggestion to you is...start again.

Download the template.amp, and go crazy. I personally would prefer to see a skin that had no artistic merit but was made by hand than a skinner.exe skin.

Anyways good luck for whatever you decide to do...and at least you're in the right place for all the help you'll ever need of skinning Winamp.

yeah, you definately got to work more on this one, but it's got potential (even though the band slipknot doesn't).

btw Kiwi, where can i get template.amp

KiwiFreak 1st November 2001 01:57

Download it here

There are heaps of them around...but I find this one to be the best.

There is history in the masks, and besides, they're only in their 20's...now Ozzy Osbourne is an adult...

Colldawg21 3rd November 2001 19:17

Once its been done, its done with. Especially something that extreme.

BullGawD 3rd November 2001 19:44

c'mon ladies, settle down.:D

Forevever 4th November 2001 01:59

people are allowed to have an opinion and not be questioned on it

the people who insist on questioning everyone's opinions are only trying to force other people to conform - the more people they can persuade into their way of thinking, the more reinforcement they have that their own opinion is the correct one, whether it is or not

in this particular situation, its quite silly. why would you even want to change someone's taste in music? does it affect your life?

Ch33zels 4th November 2001 03:12

i think i sorta understood what u just said
