Dear J Deane XXXXXXX,

Per your contact with America Online Member Services on 10/30/2001, at 10:21 PM Eastern Time, the following request(s) have been processed against your account:

Deactivation of service:

After reviewing your information, we waived your monthly membership fee for 1 month(s) of AOL. Please note that this credit only applies to membership fees and not to merchandise purchases, communication surcharges, or premium services.

You can access America Online`s secure, self-service Billing Center by going to Keyword: Billing.

At Keyword: Billing, you can review and modify your AOL account information online or interact directly with an online billing consultant. To contact a billing consultant online, go to the main AOL Billing Center screen. There you will find a scroll bar in the bottom right hand corner. Select the down arrow until the `Chat with a Billing Consultant` option appears. Once it appears, double click that selection and follow the instructions. You will be connected to a live consultant shortly thereafter. If you are still in need of further assistance, please contact our Billing Department directly at 1-888-265-8003. AOL customer support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Please Remember: AOL Staff will never ask you for your password. Never give your password or billing information to anyone online. For more ideas on how to protect your AOL password, go to Keyword: Password Tips.

Sincerely,
Lawrence

It is nearly Halloween, would a dead consultant not be more appropriate? :D

Thankfully this means I'm not leaving. Cheezels call them up and try to cancel, but its a 50/50 type thing. I've tried to cancel before and they gave me a free month, but I've also tried to cancel just to get the free month and they let me cancel it... so its hard to say.

I'm just damn glad to be here :D

Now I need a new sig...

I think we got about three free months off of that... Only we intended to cancel, then just forgot every time.

getting one free month of aol isn't worth all the hassle they put you through. i used to have it and many of my friends do/did. i dont know if this problem is unique to our area (detroit) but we would get kicked offline about every 5 minutes. it was impossible to download anything w/ my 56k. i called up aol cust. service and they checked my preferences and then said they didn't know what was wrong and they would transfer me to a different department. Instead of transfering me to someone who could help me, the transferred me to someone who gave me a salespitch for some shit, i dont even remember what it was. that was the last straw. i quit and switched to Verio. verio is the best. i have a 20 hour max, but they dont keep track. i've been online for 50 hrs in a month and they dont bill me extra.
