Dolby Digital

Hi!, I'm Spanish, so excuse me my poor english!

I've readed some messages but I haven't got any answer to this question... there's any way to decode mp3 or ac3 files for listen it in Dolby Digital mode with with an external Dolby Digital decoder using the digital out from soundblaster 5.1?, I know than Liquid Audio can decode AC3 files, but it is done decoding the file in stereo mode. In other way Power DVD can play AC3 files in Dolby Digital, but not mp3 and I don't want use this program :)

There is any plugin? or the 3.x version of winamp will implement this feature?

Thank you all.

mp3 cannot store surround sound, sorry

the only ac3 plugin for winamp also gives only stereo output, sorry again

however you can still use the dsp of your surround system to create e.g. hall effects like in a theatre based on the stereo input, but that's not what you asked for

maybe someone will write a plugin for winamp3 in the future, but for now you have to stick with powerdvd

Try DirectSound:
Preferences (Ctrl-P) > Plug-ins > Output > Select "Nullsoft DirectSound plug-in v2.0"

I don't thinks this is what he means. He wants to play .ac3 files, but unfortunately there are no input AND output plugins for this.

So you'll have to stick with PowerDVD :(
