Harry Potter movie
 

Has anyone been to see it? I took the boys (and a neighbor) to see the movie this afternoon. I have to admit, I liked it quite a bit.

i had the opertunaty to see it, but i stayed in bed. My dad fell asleep during it. most the cinema screens in sheffield are showing it.

i went and saw it with my cousins. and well, it was pretty good. nice effects and music and all that stuff.
(shh...dont tell anyone i liked it)

I saw it last month at the regional premier. I must say that I was quite impressed - I'm sure parts of the story have been 'borrowed' from various sources, but it still made for an enjoyable film.

Not yet...but I probably will sometime.
I'm looking forward to LOTR more though.
I've been waiting for that for years.

Everyone's ashamed that they like it... jeez just admit it was a surprisingly good movie. Maybe it was because they stuck nearly exactly to a surprisingly good book.

Even Ebert gave it 4 stars, which is quite good from him.

I'm not going to watch the Harry Potter movie or read any of the books until I've read the real story.

But LOTR, as commercialised as it has become (:mad: ), will still be one heck ove a spectacular movie.

the harry pothead movie is good but the gfx were crap, they shoulda got ILM or pixar in, fuck my mate who's in college could do better (cept at fluffy, that rocked, and my mates crap at hair in maya)

I took Chev Jr. to see it yesterday, Missy.
I thought it was pretty good, although 2-1/2 hours was a bit much:)

The last 1/2 hour my youngest started getting a little restless. Other than that, I really enjoyed myself. I guess I am a kid at heart.

Where can you see a movie for $4.00? It costs that much just to rent it.

I've heard of 4.50 dollar movies at my city's 24 megaplex theater with stadium style seats. :D Thats only for matinee hours. Plays like 2 of the same movies 1 hour apart.:)

In the bay area, movies cost at least $8.00 for an alright theatre. Won't get much lower.

I think i was the only one who was anxious to see the Harry Potter movie over the LOTR movie when this poll was posted a while back. I thought that the movie was great. But now you are going to get all these people saying how the movie conflicted with the book, how they left out stuff and how some things should have been different.

Bah, even if it only cost 5 bucks I have no urge to see that. Kids movies suck.

Not all the time. The Pixar Animation movies turn out very well. They are very good, and make them interesting to both children as well as adults.

Look- I wasn't into seeing this movie at all... I hate fantasy stuff... I hate LOTR (YES I SAID IT! I DO!) .. I was dragged into seeing it with some small children in the family.

and I was very surprised by this "Kids movie" ... I found it quite entertaining. Don't underestimate the movie, give it a chance. This isn't pokemon... I got dragged into seeing that too and that was nightmarishly horrible.

Some movies involving kids have sucking of a different sory :eek:

I have recently seen "Shrek" and "The Emperor's New Groove", they both was hilarious!

Most kids movies have a lot of humour aimed at adults too, or at least modern ones do. I think a better term would be family movies.

I Can't wait until Lord Of The Rings Comes Out, the whole book is very thick. I read it twice before. Too bad it has to compete against Harry Potter.:(

Don't worry, there won't be any competition. Harry Potter has a fan-base of mindless children who will see it once and then drain their parents' bank accounts on the toys and lunch boxes and BS like that.

LOTR has had a large fan-base ever since it was published, and we're bound to watch it more than once if it's all that great.

$4.50 for matinee at my city's 24 megaplex, and thats in Central NM. For the others theaters its like $5.50.

Haha, thats funny. My friend is a Harry Potter fanatic, has mostly everything about Harry Potter. "Mindless children", how about "mindless adults" shelling out money to get them Harry Potter items. In the WB store at the mall, masses of children screaming and toddling around the store, mostly with something related to Harry Potter.:rolleyes:

It was good, but only for it's genre. I still think I may rent it when it's released on video, or something like that.

I'm sort of grateful for them. I'm going to try to get $200 for my "Harry Potter Et L'École Des Sorcières" popcorn bucket on e-bay. Wish me luck.

By the way... WB has a store? WTF!?

This guy has got a point. Even though most of the time I don't like the story I just stare in awe with the amazing graphics. I like the pretty colors that flash around the screen. By the way... anyone got a good site that teaches you basic-imtermediate 3d-Graphic Design in Java? (Preferably Applet Based)

Warner Brothers have stores, like Disney has The Disney Store, like Discovery Channel has The Discovery Channel Store, like Apple Computer has their Apple Stores, like.....I can go on forever with many stores that companies have. Brookstone, Gateway Computers have Gateway Country Stores, IBM have IBM Stores inside of a bigger store, etc.:D

I did that the first time I read it, but then I tried again and read the lot. The first half of the first book *is* pretty boring, but it gets a lot better later on. My uncle saw Harry Potter and wasn't that impressed - I might see it Thursday with my dad and ickle brother.
