wa3 beta 2 cold... not bad
 

i just recently d/l'ed beta 2 cold and so far it has been running well. just a few things to note:

1) it does take one or two seconds to switch songs when set to Shuffle
2) it has crashed 3 times thus far over mundane tasks (i.e. switching to a skin (wa3 skin from here), adding a song to the playlist, etc.)
3) it still does take up some cpu time, more than 2.x i believe

i know that it is in the works still, but these are just some things to think about. but as far as all that goes, you guys are on the right track and it does work fairly well for being a beta still. keep up the good work! winamp rocks my socks!

unless you strip winamp 3 naked it will always take up more cpu than 2
try removing every component except ones that are required. look into the fact thread at the top of winamp 3 forum for components that can be removed.

are your skins desinged for a winamp alpha version?

i have nothin to say for shuffle. i dont use shuffle

otherwise its find except for window alignment. the windows don't snap together all to well. there is space between the left and right sides of the playlist and windows similar to the playlist.

I find it funny how people say they know "it is in the works still", but still continue to tell of the problems about it. It doesn't take much intelligence to be able to check the forums for already reported bugs, or even check bugzilla.

For the comment on how wa3 takes more cpu time than 2.xxx, well. Um .. duh. A new version of ANY software will more than likely have the same effects.

Like revenge and calamari... Winamp 3 Beta 2 is best served Cold (Been waiting way to long to say that... so forgive me) :D
