i was wondering if you mods ever thought about putting together an award thread for the winamp members? i think it would be a great idea for an end-of-the-year type thread... anyways if you guys do decide to start one, here are some ideas for some categories:

Member of the Year
Mod of the Year
Most Helpful Member of the Year
Best Skin Maker
Best AVS creator
Post-Pumper of the Year
Most Smiley-Happy Member of the Year
Best Thread-Starter of the Year
The Infamous Flame Award (they get banned for a day)
The Most Cheerful Member of the Year
The Horniest Member of the Year *cough*s1138*cough*
The Most Informative Member of the Year
The Useless Post Award......

what do you guys think of the idea? do you guys have any suggestions for some categories?

Member of the Year's being discussed right now. It's nominees are mostly people from Skin Love, WA3, and Tech Support.

I'm being secretive to keep the tension :)

Oh my god, why encourage post pumping- that's the 8th deadly sin you know....

i don't know just listing some ideas... doesn't mean we have to use them (maybe punish them or something, like taking away their count at the end of the year, i don't know)- and maybe incorporate the mod/member of the year into the whole awards thread... just an idea

anybody got any good ideas?

I think it is a great idea. If the mods dont want to do it, then maybe we could just do something on our own.

I think that would go to that one guy who kept rejoining under different names and each one got banned. He used so many, I can't remember which was the original!!

I think the whole idea is dead...

Bop: Heard of doornails? Yes? Well, they're alive and kicking compared to this idea, unfortunately. As seen in weeks past, these things usually turn into, well, popularity contests. Since it's impossible for us to nominate all 50,000-odd members for a poll, hell even just members who've posted in the last 100 days, the list would have to be shortened. As such, someone will always be left out and feel rejected.

I'm rambling.

Short answer: Not gonna happen. Logistics suck. People bitch. Stuff goes bad. :)
