mpc support? Atleast in the media library
Will Wa3 support mpc and if so when?
I know there's an good plugin already but what I miss there is support in the media library. Would it be possible to just make it read the tag (id3v1 and v2) if you already have the plugin? Jan. |
Actually I don't know what MPC is. I assume it's some file format I haven't heard of...?

wow!!!!
you don't know what mpc is!!?!? it's just the best (quality) lossy encoder there is!! Better quality than mp3 at a smaller size. It's fitted for hi-quality around a biterate of 180 or so. At that bitrate nothing comes close the the quality. http://www.stud.uni-hannover.de/~and...coder_eng.html http://www.uni-jena.de/~pfk/mpp/ Jan. |
is this: http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/cnv_mpc.zip what you want?
if so find more of the same here: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=62366 |
id3v2 sucks. don't use id3v2 with mpc.
|
that plugin doesn't allow to use the tag in the media library.
The possibity for Wa3 to read the tag is what I'm asking. ----- And id3v2 many technically sucks but it works without problems for me. Jan. |
A few!!!
damn. so that'll be in 2008 or something :) Jan. |
fyi, cnv_mpc DOES load ID3 tags, but your MPC files are tagged with id3v2 and id3v2 is not supported by cnv_mpc (and will never be). if you change their tags, you will need to delete contents of your winamp3/db directory before WA3 'notices' the difference.
|
Ok, the "normal" mpc plugin doesn't support id3v2 but the orlsoft one does (for winamp2). (it ignores the tag).
Then you can use the wa2 input wac that allows you to use wa2 input files. Then you have id3v2 support but the media library still does read them. Jan. |
there's no way to get meta-info from wa2 plugins. oh well, tough shit.
|
So there's no way to read it as long as there isn't a wa3 plugin that supports id3v2?
Jan. |
there's no way.
wa3 plugin is GPL; if you don't like the way it works, get the source and implement id3v2 support yourself :P |
