Aliens

i am fascintad with alien life and the possibility of other worlds... so much so that if another life form did land here, and had the means to take us safely to their universe (billions of light years away), i would probably go along with them just to see what else was out there.

that leads me to my question- is your interest and curiosity about other life forms so strong that you would also go along with aliens had they ever landed; but there is a catch... you cannot take anything or anyone with you, and you could never return back to earth... would you go?

Twilightseer 6th December 2001 15:03

No I wouldn't.
It's as simple as that.

7icha7d 6th December 2001 15:08

I don't think so. It would be tempting, especially if I was certain I would be treated well, but I like the life I have too much. So no.

Curi0us_George 6th December 2001 15:18

No. I wouldn't likely be interested in their females, if they had females. That sounds funny, but it's true. There's no way I'd go if I didn't expect there to be anyone I'd be attracted to.

DJ ROACH 6th December 2001 15:27

HELL YES!!!

ive said it for years, if aliens came down id be the first to say hi.
the curiosity i have for their technology, living style and just the unknown, to be able to see what we cant even fathom, i could spend the rest of my life learning how their world works and never get bored.
if aliens land in your backyard leme know.

randman 6th December 2001 15:44

Nah. Not if I couldn't come back. Anyway if I want to see strange life forms, I go to my annual family reunion. :)

Gonzotek 6th December 2001 18:01

I'd go provided I get to play with all their advanced tech. :) A true geek am I.

For that matter, the only thing that ever motivates me on THIS WORLD is the technology I get to play with.

-=Gonzotek=-

/me is a geek's geek a I guess.

NuLoser 6th December 2001 18:05

God yes. The geek in me want's to play with all their stuff and learn how it works. Also, it would be sweet. :D

rm' 6th December 2001 18:09

What if they are like the bugs in Starship Troopers (Best action movie ever!) and have no real technology? I, like CG, would miss women too much.

Gonzotek 6th December 2001 18:29

Well...if they had no tech, I wouldn't go because I wouldn't get to play with it by reason of it not existing. I have to admit to having not seen/read Starship Troopers though, so I don't know how the bugs got around and stuff.

Women, schwomen I want alien love! ;)

From Bowfinger:
Carol: You prefer alien love!
Kit: Alien love? Why'd you say alien love?

PabUK 6th December 2001 19:01

No. I am curious but no that curious.

Xerxes 6th December 2001 19:40

I would go- provided they had a "Replicator" so I could have some paint and materials ... that would be marvelous.

oh hell yeah, then i could just replicate some porno star when i get lonely. :D

Mikeskin 6th December 2001 20:57

This reminded me of an Outer Limits or Twilight Zone show where Aliens came to Earth and they were taking people with them to their planet. We had a book with the title translated “How to serve man” and the earth people though how wonderful. Well finally someone was able to translate the rest of the book and it turned out that it was a cookbook “How to serve man”. Unfortunately he was on the ship and no one found out.

I would have to know about the Aliens before I would go.

s1138 6th December 2001 21:03

i wouldnt go, if i couldnt take stuff or my friends.

Colldawg21 7th December 2001 00:27

If people knew about the incident and were going to report it, I probably wouldn't go because everybody would think it was a hoax. I wouldn't go for the thrill of meeting aliens if nobody else knew about it. Once you're gone you can't talk about it, and even if you were able to come back, nobody would believe you.

(Hope that made sense  )

binary hero 7th December 2001 07:59

yes. Unless they look like the aliens from the new(ish) pentium ads. "pen-tee-umm" then I would take a shotgun to them.

I'd go, IF they had good technology...
Mmmmmmmm....... holodeck.........

3 very good reasons:
1) I have many problems here on Earth.
2) Many people hate me here on Earth.
3) I can learn to pilot one of their spaceships.

John Kryten (Chrichton?) went through a wormhole on Farscape, and fell in love with an alien. Then died (I think, I missed the episode on BBC2 on Monday, and my video stopped recording before it finished.:()

M!5.
btw, the actual implication of point 3 is that I can get back if I wanna.

That movie was . . . odd. It wasn't a bad movie, but the political overtones were a little too strong, but really funny. I almost hoped the bugs would win. :)

But that was the whole joy of it... it had depth in a very strange strange (and possibly distrubing way), considering that it's an action movie. The political subtext to the whole thing was just very exciting and thought provoking. Heck, I'm still not sure if the bugs attacked Buenos Aires in the first place, or if the asteroid was just a tool the government used for propoganda...

Xerxes 7th December 2001 18:22

The whole political part was the genius of it. It was like the world had become a united Neo-Fascist Roman Empire. The part with the unisex showers was intended to show the evolution of how united society had became.

Do you think you might be psychic? Then you are! :)
