Vis runs too fast - help

I've searched the threads but didn't find anything on this prob.

I recently shot from the extremities of a PII 233 to a new build Athlon 1600XP/512Mb DDR and Radeon All-in-wonder-pro card.

Now all my vis runs too fast and I can't seem to slow 'em down.

I use (and love) Acidspunk and Geiss running at full screen and thru' data projector but they are now running out-of-synch and fps is way too high.
(However, a plus point, the Wild Tangent chicks run A1 perfection :D )
Any help please - I must slow the world down!!!

(Nothing too technical plz, I am no expert)

well the whole idea is run as fast as posible :)

but you can try a higher resolution maybe 800X600 @ 24 bits
in geiss you can do it:
selected winamp Control+P
then Plug-ins
then Visualization
then select geiss
then configure
under Video Mode you can play with the resolution and see what is the best for you

BTW: i can exchange my P-!!! 450 96Mb Matrox G-200 8Mb for your athlon :D:p

Serves you right for have such a show off good machine. :)

Seriously I had the same problem (is it really a problem things working too well :)) recently 233 to 1333 w/ g-force 2 but not much you can do really. But no expert.

Geiss I beleive cannot be slowed down. But select in config - video mode to max 800x600 x32 bit and screen size to 100%. but will still run at prob in excess of 70 fps - press p when running for this.

Acidspunk may fair a little better as it doesn't run as fast. Goto config again and select in video mode at the highest number avaliable.

Sorry if you have tried this already and/or I sound patronising but you said nothing to tech.

If not a plugin like these with a fps limiter (frames per second - the speed of the plugin) is Geiss' new one Milkdrop.

Download from www.geisswerks.com
then to www.milkdrop.co.uk for more presets

Hope it helped.

Thank Cito and Rova

Didn't mean to show off - just wanted to give spec if it helps solve anything. BTW its the first PC I've ever built so I'm kinda pleased with it.

I've tried all the screen res/max size options. I did find on max res+size it was better but was spoilt by the lower 1/6 of the screen showing fuzzy lines (I bet there's a technical term for that).
Now, if I could shift those???

Since you ask

Yeah, it is when things whizz around so fast they leave the moozik behind

I tried milkdrop on my old machine but it always screwed up. Maybe now is the time to give it another trial.

well actually

well actually you dont want Vis or any plugin in that case to run to fast, you want the plugin to be between 28 and 31 FPS, in Vis go to options and click display and slide the bar to the right, if the double pikel is checked uncheck it. :)

Another way

Run more programs, like photoshop or 3ds max or winamp or more IE windows, that will help slow down the processor :)
