Right i've changed this but it looks crap. How can i make it look better... It's doing my head'in, it's crapy but i think it could be okay if it was changed abit

you may want to consider firstly changing the qaulity of the heading. after all, it is what a korn skin user would want to see right?

you need to have a smoother transition between the base of the skin and the title. some 3d aspects like shadows wouldnt hurt either, but you would probably have to apply the same 3d effects to the rest of the skin. heres a small example of what i mean:

try to figure out a kind of theme to the skins design also. you'll want it to be similar to their style of music right? so your looking at metallic rusted bloody or basically anything thats dirty and smashed around.

Right, I just needed ideas, and you gave me some, make it bloody an stick the Issues Doll on it between the EQ. But what can i do with the back colour, no metter what i do it always looks... well plain :(

my body clock is somewhat screwed, so im now awake from 4pm to 5am and asleep in between. i dont have anthing to do, so ill just mess around with this skin to pass the time.

btw, 1px beveling effects can make a skin twice as good without changing its general appearance.

err... adobe photoshop 6 is the way to go for me. i have never even seen paint shop pro 7 or whatever. seriously though, i really reccomend you give photoshop 6 a go. things that ive just shown u here take seconds. imagine what you can do in a few shours....:)

black represents darkness - ie, nothingness. this is why it looks plain. why does it have to be black??? try some other colours, do a little bit of airbrushing and put some useless junk [that fits in to the theme] in there and you'll be getting somewhere.

and the reason he dont have any other progie apart from PSP7 is the cos he got it of me... and i personaly thinks PSP is better than PS...

I aint got a program what will do that, PSP7 only does one size of airbrush, do you know of any i can download or anything with the diff airbrushes?? coz i got MS Paint PSP7 and some sh*t IMG thing :(:(:(

Look, why dont you just get photoshop 6? Things like this are NOT hard to do. I did not get taught either. every effect and technique i use is self taught, and I have not even been using the program for less than 6 months! Do yourself a favour and get photoshop 6... NOW!!!

I was planning to see what this PSP7 is like untill i heard this 'only one sized airbrush' thing. why doesnt everyone just use the program that owns???

actually...that sounds like me when I first started using psp:rolleyes:...

there are really 255 different airbrush sizes

I'm guessing you just don't have the tool palette window open...so...go to View>Toolbars and click the box next to "Tool Options Palette"

that gives you a little window that lets you change the settings for whatever tool you're using

dont u have a website? u should display the images directly.

anyway, *if* you had photoshop 6 i could give you the file im using and you could do whatever u wanted with it, but heres the blood splatter thing ayway if you want it. oops, the title is different and there is blackness.

Heres what i done, tell me what you think for my first try :)
soz i dont have a site, so have to put up with dlin files for a bit till i get one up an running

what is this program? im lookin at this so called "airbrush" splatter psp does and it doesnt appear to be blurred.

ok a little advice: this is very good for you first try but you have to remember some things. airbrush effects are effective because they mimic realistic lighting very well, but only if u use them correctly. you seem to have placed the different shades of red randomly, but they should be darker [almost black] towards the centre. also, you need many small transparent dots around the main splatter to make it look really violent. and the placing of the blood must look as if it is falling down the skin, where as your splatter over the numbers seems to be going up. and lastly, remember you cant cover the area where the numbers will be with different bits of blood as the numbers are all the same. its better to just erase any overhang in the black areas. oh and the occasional light red pixels here and there should be used if you want to give the effect that there is some shiny bits poking out through the dried up crud.

this is just a overlapped airbrushing [the blood is severly overdone but its nearly zzzz time so...]

you're gettin the hang of it...maybe the lightest red is a little to bright though.

if you really want to get ps 6 and you dont have a money or a cable modem, heres something illegal that you shouldn't do... leave your computer online all night and download it from morpheus. thats how i didn't get psp 7.;)
but dont do that. just go buy it

You're on the way to improve the skin :)

I'd just suggest to change these pretty default looking eq bars with blood dripping from the top...this would mean much work (you need to change every pic in eqmain.bmp) but it might be a nice effect. :D

this is what i've done in the past.. 10-20 mins, i wanna make the blood on EQ better so i'm still hard at work on that.. but still, looks better then it did :D

I was thinking of dripping blood, I tried it qiucky with Gimp (argh! :D)

If you keep your version I suggest to make the background black and

not orange :D

And if you like, like jasonl sugessted to try to add shadow to the

writings. This isn't difficult, you only (1) have to have (? sounds strange :D)

the logo "Korn" on a seperate layer (you can eytract it with the magic wand if

you don't have it) and then go to effects/drop shadow (in PSP) :D

BTW Korn are really kewl I love this freak on a leash remix (on "no boundaries" I think) so much

You think i could pull that off!!??? god you lot spend alot of time makin skins.. i remind y'all this is my FIRST! skin, accually its the first time ive ever used PSP7 had it installed just for the skin :) supose i'll get better but its too late really with WA3 coming up :(

Any help on what to do with the playlist will help me alot! and I'm soon getting PS 3 or 4 (Can't remember which he said he had) can someone say if its good or bad or easy to work with?

Chester - your skin is starting to look pretty good, though I don't have any suggestions for you, everyone else seems to got you covered.

As for PSP7 vs PS6 - Anything you can do with either, can be done with the other one. And don't let anyone tell you that either is inferior. The only difference is that the transition from PSP7 to PS6 is nearly impossible. PSP7 is hella lot more user friendly - where PS6 relies entirely too much on layers. Thats just my opinion. What are my credentials? Not many, but I have been using PSP since v3.0 - and never could get the hang of PS even back in those days.

Keep up the good work, and read some PSP help files and internet tutorials. You will find yourself amazed at what you can create with the proper edumacation.
