Gnotella development stopped :(
Shaun Sidwall (the developer of Gnotella, a popular Windows Gnutella client) and Jonathan Levinson have both resigned their positions as members of the board of directors of Petapeer Holdings Inc. (the company that bought the rights to commercialize Gnotella). They both cited a breakdown in communications between themselves and company President and CEO, Stephane Chouinard, as the immediate reason for their resignations. Development of Gnotella has been suspended until further notice.

I don't use gnotella, but I wish the future wasn't looking grim for it.

don't be sad, I found a very good alternative based on open source without ad's and spyware
Gnucleus http://www.gnucleus.net/ |
Doesn't affect me in any way, but I've used it as a win32 app in WinE, when I was testing out Gnutella clients....that's really too bad, it was the best Windows one I tried out.

Bah, Gnotella was VB anyways. Besides I always wondered how companies though they could make money og gnutella.

gnotella ate bandwith crazily when connected to more than a couple hosts, which would bring my upload speed to a crawl, poor leechers :(
still too bad tho, had a nice search with mp3 bitrate display for other gnotella users. other related crap: limewire has a shareware/pro version that comes ad and spyware free now if someone could redo the ui so i can see more than 4 search results without scrolling, i'd consider... no i wouldn't... pfft |
