Recommend me a skin or two...
 

Perhaps Winamp.com should start a little service called "Skin on Request", where you just fill in your preference, eg. darkness, level of transparency, color emphasis, contrast, etc. then it searches the archive of skins for the ones that match your request.

But for now, I need you people to recommend me a skin or two. I like dark skins. I love dark skins. I love dark, hi-tech, futuristic skins with great medium-to-high use of transparency and high-contrst charactors.

ahhh yes a class 67B Winamp user. Perhaps he/she may like this skin. Yes my AI modules think that would be the right skin for this individual.

This form of system would possibly cut out the crap skins you may see along the way to finding the "Ideal" skin your after, but on the other hand, computers are computers, they all suck at finding what you would really want, plus you'll probably get a response of a couple thousand skins of one particular choice at this rate.. you'd be there all day filling up ur pc with pick'n'choose skins.
I dont see why you make your own skin the way you want it.. its far easier than searching them pages.

well, sorry but, I have rarely released anything dark and high tech except for JadeTube...which by all accounts is fairly simplistic as far as tech is concerned. However, there are a great many skins featuring the style that you are looking for over @ deviantart.com. I believe that this sites feature benefit is the fact that most of its skin base is technical in nature and are of most high quality.

It's not that original cuz i copied a lot of gfx from the game, well just check it out.

that sounds like 20% of all winamp skins. the sniney/rusted dark dark metal skin with the lcd lightup screen to contrast it.

personaly if i were to use a dark industrial skin i'd use bronze's Syndicate except the cbuttons arent too labled and the text could use less of a shadow on it to improve its contrast for some people (its fine for me though). i only use my own skins (thats why i make them) but if i didnt make skins myself i'd prob use this one.

This one isn't perfect, but quite nice I think :D
