The most important controls

I'm currently thinking WA3-wise and I was wondering what poeple consider to be the 10 most important controls that they would need accessible in one click rather than opening new windows etc.

I've asked this here rather than WA3 since I value your opinions more than those of strangers. And it'd be interesting to see if there was any difference of opinion.

Also, this could involve controls not yet implemented in Winamp2 (eg: crossfading, pitch shifter)

cbuttons, shuf&rep, edit the playlist, but I don't think you can have them in the main...unless you do 1 big window
&posbar of course
*don't use MB
*don't use eq for equalizing ;)

<edit>maybe minimize to winshade too</edit>

chiquita chad 10th January 2002 18:59

the 6 cbuttons
shuf/rep
min max close buttons
well thats 11 but u get the idea :D

skinme! 10th January 2002 19:06

Just a thought: Shuffle and repeat have become like salt and pepper, man and wife but does anybody ever really need repeat immediately to hand?

Lucid DM 10th January 2002 21:17

I know I don't.
I just turn repeat on and forget about it. I think the only times I ever use the repeat button is when I'm testing skins.

Forevever 10th January 2002 22:25

5 - Back, Forward, Play, Stop, Open - I don't need a pause button
2 - Minimize, Close (I don't need a ws button cause double clicking the title bar works)
1 - List pop up button with Add/Remove Selected/Sort/Save options
1 - Repeat because often if I don't use an entire list, and I'm only playing one song its annoying to have it repeat so I'd like to be able to see if its on so I can click it off
1 - Menu button - cause everything else could be under that

flatmatt 11th January 2002 01:07

I don't really need buttons, but if I felt like clicking, I'd say...

First 5 cbuttons, minimize, close, shuffle, posbar, volume.

PeaceMaker 11th January 2002 02:48

Id just keep the Cbuttons, volume unless your happy to reach for the speakers, and the close/ min/ max buttons for the main screen.
If you include the Eq, id keep the power and preset only, and have really small sliders.
I generally dont use the PL much, just click on the songs and delete.
You could see what other WA3 skins go for.. some may be similar to what you plan for.

Neko 11th January 2002 05:12

cook, clean, oreo fetch, play, pause, skip, stop, exit, hide, take over the world

_Blackdog_ 11th January 2002 05:19

cbuttons and volume is all i need. i really dont mess w/ shuffle or the balance too often. almost forgot, posbar is a must!

btw flatmatt- is your isp that you hate comcast? i'm from the detroit area and we dont have email either. 50 dollars a month and no email. what a rip

binary hero 11th January 2002 08:01

LMAO!

technically I don't need the cbuttons or the volume bar - they're already on my keyboard.
so I'll trade those in also for "cook, clean, oreo fetch, take over the world" and um.. that leaves me with an extra button I think :D how about make it programmable so I can change it to whatever I'm using the most currently

[edit]or how about a "load skin" button

Urgh! You're not allowed to change the skin in my skin. Naughty girl.

binary hero 11th January 2002 17:49

Because it's not something I turn on and off. I just leave it on.
