Feedback on new WA3 RC Site

Below is a link to a new site I am making for Component Developers and Skin Designer/Scripters. It will be a place strictly for Winamp3 Lovers. Developers will be able to upload their Skins and Components via form input (OC3 Server so the upload should be pretty good speed).

This is only the first step towards making the site. I still have to code the sections that will upload and display skins/components by ranking etc. What I want right now is for you guys to send feedback on the design I have made below so that I can worry about the code next.

Also the URL this file is posted at is the actual URL I will be using for the site.

Sample Design

Needs more user-friendliness to it. It looks great, but I think that it needs a hover underline code so people that go over it don't get it confused with regular text. Check my site out (link in the signature), and you'll see that my links underline when you hover above them. I have the code if you're interested in underlining links on hover.

No I know CSS and thanks for the input. I also would like to know if you meant something other than just the underlining links when you said friendlyness.

The site looks good.
It should turn out alright.

User-friendliness, umm I used that in terms of navigation as well, so you're not lost on your site, and theres a way to get back to the WA3 homepage.

oops, sorry, I hit post by mistake.

the site is very user friendly. when you hover over the sample email address link it should change color to show user input

are you coding for IE 5.5- or 6+ or mozilla or opera? or Netscape... hehe.

drake 13th January 2002 06:49

mozilla and Netscape are the same thing. I am coding for IE 5+ and if it works on Netscape good for it but recent stats (from my web statistics and logs as well) show that Netscape and Opera users are less than 10% of the user base. Therefore if people choose Netscape they can deal with none of the sites working right for them.

I forgot to say that all my sites contain a navigation that is the same on everypage and accesses all the main sections. This Winamp Site of mine might generate a huge database (Which it can since I have room) but the actual sections won't be that many.
