Recent Junior Flood

Is it just me or was there a boost in the Junior 1 time posters who don't read the FAQ?

I came in today and found like 3 posts on the top all closed all posting questions by 1 time posters that were answered in the FAQ.

Just limit Junior Members to not post threads until they become a Member, makes life easier for the rest of us.;)

good idea in theory, but that leads to more post pumping.... as long as your status means nothing more that a few words under your name, we won't deal with any (more) post pumpers.... there are already a few.

Then limit their posting times (Junior Members), more than 60 seconds, to about 5 minutes away from each post. Also take back posts when unecessary threads get deleted for Junior Members.

i would like to point out that not all junior member (ie me) do these things. so any action that effects all junior members would also effect those of us who havent acted stupidly. I think that the more senior members yelling and bitching likely works about as well as anything else would

but that just my opinion

i did notice they changed when you change status, i became a member
at 30 and HollowEarth is still a JM at 47.

In practice it is best to leave it the way it is and deal with new people. There are problems with the current methods of posting and their would be problems with Henry's Idea. Its like a lot of other things in life. Not everyone can be pleased.

You signed up in April of 2001 times have changed, being a member now takes 50 posts, Senior Member 100. Also if there were all Members and Senior Members, and higher up the ranking, there wouldn't be that many usless threads to discuss on.
