Pathetic little snert asks for a programming favor
I've given up trying to fix Dial Up Networking in win2k. I'm sick of having to logoff just to disconnect. So, if someone could write me an app allowing me to disconnect my modem, and maybe have it hide in the systray so I can check connection stats a la DUN, I'd be most appreciative. But really, even if it's just a simple window with one button I press to disconnect the modem, I'd be happy. Heck, you could even just give me a code snippet to disconnect a modem in VB, and I could write it myself.
I've looked all over the net, but nothing disconnects your modem efficiently, without cramming in 1001 other useless features. |
Nevermind. Good lord. Explorer just crashed and restarted, and the problem magically fixed itself. I swear, this computer is possesed.

My plan to infect your computer with Communism is succeeding :p

It's not worth it, just for this little annoyance. I have about 15 gigs of data, a large majority of it not yet backed up to cd. And I have about 50 apps that would have to be reinstalled and reregistered, and the whole bit.

Ya, but that's the fun part. Starting from a clean start. I have a second hard drive so I don't have to worry about loosing data, and getting a third.

A pain in the heiny it is. I have also lost my HP recovery disk and seeing as how I have a "no longer around manufacturer" made modem, I find it a serious threat to my sanity to format anymore. |
you still use dialup?
sucks to be you... |
Not everyone can yet afford broadband, or indeed not everyone lives in an area where broadband is instllaed so DUN is the only way for them to go.
