Other People's Sigs
 

Do you ever click on links in other people's sigs? Just wondered if it was worthwhile. My links, are of course exceptional.:D

I do, sometimes. If it's a link that people have been talking about.

I just about never click a link at in the sig but for some reason, even if i'm not reading it, I always click the links in the message itself. I must have some sort of Compulsive Message Link Clicking Disorder. Good god i'm bored!!!!!!

Yes, you do.
When you mouseover a link, the actual link is displayed on your status bar.

hardly tells you a lot about what's on that page.

hmmmm... edited to shave off a post, but now nobody's reading it.

if you know the right command you can have whatever you want come up in the status bar, not necessarily the link URL. Not sure, but I think it works in UBB code if you do it right. (assuming it just slaps <a href= ... > around the URL)

If you have winamp3 and like scripts, all the links in my sig are good.

i confess, i must have whatever Bogger has, i even clicked on the one in Merlin's post... (doesn't go anywhwere for those who care). I think it's caused by over-exposure to BroadBand.... maybe we can get in a med textbook with this????

I try to check out everyone's links... sometimes I wish I hadn't, but for the most part it's interesting to see what my fellow winampers are up to.

I'm up to, quite literally, nothing.

I usually click on a few links,
to see updates or whatever people are up too.
Sometimes I'll get brave and click on a new members link.
Not often though.
I could link mine in my sig, but all you'd get
would be "under construction" so I don't bother.
Hopefully that will change soon, as we have worked out
a way at school to access our web sites from here and at school,
so I can work on it both places, and they will host it there with
their own server.

personally i see other's links as boxes.. sometimes they are colorful, sometimes they are translucid, sometimes they invite you in, sometimes you feel they hide a bomb.. :rolleyes: I enjoy opening boxes in general whenever I have time :)

I feel the same way. Sometimes the person posting the link in their sig reflects what's in the link; Bilbo and his Entmoot poetry site, for example.

Hey thanks, nature spirit- now I actually have a reason to update my site. WOo HOo! :)

thanks for the kind words, nemessis- hopefully I will have all the paintings correctly linked by the end of the week. I also plan to add sketches and drawings to the site; and I'm also considering a place for the movie of the week, and maybe even some poetry. Plus when I get a decent digital camera, I will also create an area for photographs. A lot of stuff to do, I just have so little time... eventually it will all get done though. I'll keep you guys posted. :)
